2 Inmates Escape from Tattnall County Jail

The Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two inmates who escaped from the county jail on Monday.

Authorities say that on Monday, October 10, 2022, at approximately 2:00 p.m. two inmates escaped from recreation yard at the Tattnall County Jail.

The Inmates are identified as:

  • John Herbert Mincey – 30 years old, 5’9″, 180 pounds, Black/ Male of 294 Brumby Avenue, Reidsville, GA and
  • Meahki Asahmad Carter – 18 years old, 5’10”, 140 pounds, Black/Male, of 128 Collins Street, Reidsville, GA.

One was wearing orange jail jumpsuit and the other had on white boxers and a white t-shirt.

Mincey was being held on Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, and Terroristic Threats charges as well as a Probation Violation.

Carter was being held for Multiple Counts of Entering Auto, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During a Crime.
