The two inmates who escaped from the Tattnall County Jail’s recreation yard last month are back in custody. John Herbert Mincey and Meahki Asahmad Carter escaped on October 10, 2022. Though the Sheriff’s Office immediately began searching for the pair, efforts failed to yield their arrest for almost a month. Mincey was being held on Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, and Terroristic Threats charges as well as a Probation Violation.
