Blue Ridge and Jekyll Island Rated Among The Most Dog-Friendly Vacation Destinations in 2023

EuroPuppy.com carried out a survey of 3,000 dog-owning families to rate their preferred summer vacation destinations when traveling with their beloved pets. They then put together a ranking of the 100 Most Dog Friendly Vacation Destinations in America ahead of Summer 2023.

In first place came South Carolina’s Myrtle Beach. This coastal wag-worthy city is brimming with fur-friendly fun. Families can enjoy leisurely walks along the dog-friendly beaches, where their furry companions can frolic in the waves and dig in the sand. Myrtle Beach also features several pet-friendly parks and trails, providing ample opportunities for outdoor adventures and exploration. Additionally, the city offers a range of pet-friendly accommodations, ensuring a comfortable stay for the whole family. Myrtle Beach’s lively boardwalk and entertainment options, including outdoor dining establishments that welcome dogs, ensure that every family member can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere together.

Sarasota, Florida, sniffs its way to the number two spot… Known for its stunning beaches and vibrant cultural scene, Sarasota provides a welcoming environment for families and their furry companions. The city features several dog-friendly beaches, such as Brohard Paw Park and Lido Beach, where families can enjoy leisurely walks along the shoreline, play in the surf, and even let their dogs roam freely in designated areas. Moreover, the city embraces a dog-friendly culture, with pet-friendly parks, cafes, and restaurants that cater to families with dogs.

In a fetching third position comes Colorado Springs, offering a perfect blend of outdoor adventures, dog-friendly attractions, and breathtaking scenery. Surrounded by the majestic Rocky Mountains, Colorado Springs provides numerous opportunities for families and their furry companions to explore together. The area features dog-friendly hiking trails, such as the Garden of the Gods Park and the Palmer Park Trail, where families can embark on scenic hikes amidst stunning rock formations and natural landscapes. Families can visit the Bear Creek Dog Park or enjoy outdoor dining with their canine companions by their side. Additionally, Colorado Springs hosts dog-friendly events and festivals throughout the year, providing entertainment and activities for the whole family.

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina came in as the 4th most dog-friendly summer destination. Families can explore the island’s dog-friendly beaches, where their furry companions can run and play in the surf or dig in the soft sand. Hilton Head Island also boasts numerous pet-friendly parks and trails, allowing families to enjoy leisurely walks or invigorating hikes amidst the island’s lush landscapes. Additionally, Hilton Head Island offers pet-friendly outdoor dining options, where families can enjoy a meal while their dogs relax nearby.

Bringing up the tail in the top 5 is Amelia Island, Florida. The island features dog-friendly beaches, such as Peter’s Point Beachfront Park and Main Beach Park, where families can stroll along the sandy shores, play fetch, and let their dogs splash in the waves. Amelia Island also offers pet-friendly trails and nature preserves, such as Fort Clinch State Park, where families can embark on scenic walks amidst stunning natural landscapes. Blue Ridge boasts an abundance of dog-friendly hiking trails, such as the Aska Trails and the Benton MacKaye Trail, where families can embark on exhilarating walks amidst breathtaking landscapes. The town’s picturesque downtown area is lined with pet-friendly shops and cafes, allowing families to enjoy a leisurely stroll and dine with their four-legged friends by their side. Moreover, Blue Ridge offers pet-friendly accommodations, ensuring a comfortable stay for everyone. Families can also take advantage of pet-friendly activities, such as visiting the nearby pet-friendly orchards and wineries.

Jekyll Island was voted by dog-owners as the 68th favorite vacation destination. This barrier island boasts pristine beaches that welcome four-legged companions, providing ample space for joyful romps and refreshing swims. With miles of scenic trails winding through lush forests and picturesque marshlands, families and their furry friends can enjoy invigorating walks and explorations together. Jekyll Island offers numerous pet-friendly accommodations, ensuring a comfortable stay for both humans and their beloved pets. From charming cottages to spacious vacation rentals, families can find suitable lodging that accommodates their furry companions. Additionally, the island features dog-friendly restaurants and outdoor dining options, allowing families to savor delicious meals while keeping their canine companions by their side.
