(The Center Square) – Global insurer American International Group, Inc. is expanding, tripling its presence in metro Atlanta with an innovation hub in Dekalb County and the creation of 600 jobs, according to Gov. Brian Kemp’s office.
The job creation will happen over the next five years and include positions in underwriting, claims, operations, data engineering, and artificial intelligence, according to a release.
The Fortune 100 company, commonly known as AIG, will open the new Brookhaven hub in 2026. The office space will accommodate 1,000 employees, state officials said.
“The quality of a company like AIG and the caliber of the employees that will call it home is a perfect fit for Brookhaven’s Perimeter Summit,” said Brookhaven Mayor John Park.
The Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Global Commerce team Decide DeKalb, Georgia Power, the Metro Atlanta Chamber and the University System of Georgia worked on the project.
“For years, we lost some of our best and brightest talent to out-of-state opportunities. That’s no longer the case,” said Pat Wilson, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. “AIG’s office hub is a great example of the type of investment that will keep our well-educated, diverse talent engaged here at home after graduation.”
