Bryan County: New US 280 Signal Activation Dec. 1 Near I-16

The Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) announced recently that the activation of a new signalized intersection will be effective Thursday, December 1, 2022. The signal is located on US Route 280 at Oracal Parkway/Interstate Centre Boulevard north of I-16 interchange (Exit 143) near Black Creek Community in Bryan County.

Georgia DOT crews in preparations for the activations will install traffic signals and restripe this intersection. Message boards will be in place to alert motorists of this new traffic signal location and activation date.

Local law enforcement will handle traffic control during activation to enhance safety. This signal activation is weather contingent and subject to change.

Motorists are reminded to pay special attention to traffic control devices, signs and posted speed limits as drivers become acclimated to the new signal.
