Effingham County Commissioner Reggie Loper Arrested by GBI

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested 83-year-old Effingham County Commissioner Reginald “Reggie” Sanford Loper on Wednesday on charges of Child Molestation and Sexual Battery.

He was booked into the Effingham County Jail just after 11:00 a.m.

Loper has served as commissioner for District 4, which covers the City of Springfield and parts of the City of Rincon, since 2004.

  2. The commissioners need to be replaced by now anyway. Look at the way the county has been handled the past few years! 83 and still on the board? Plus he’s a dirty old man! He needs to be charged to the highest extent. He’s representing Effingham and we’re supposed to be better than that! What a shame.

  3. My son set in Screven County Jail for one year and mine months awaiting bond. Then another year and a half for trial. Trust this judicial circuit? I think not!!!!
