Hwy 169 Bridge in Tattnall County to Remain Closed for Foreseeable Future

The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) announces State Route (SR) 169 bridge in the Community of Mendes is closed until further notice due to catastrophic damage caused by Tropical Storm Debby.

The storm’s heavy rains and flood waters critically impacted the bridge and roadway. The SR 169 bridge is approximately 1.2 miles north of State Route 57 in Tattnall County.

Roadside signage will direct drivers to the US 301 detour route. Please reference map for additional details. Motorists can access residences in the area up to the closure.
