Jones Road Bridge over I-95 to close for maintenance November 15

Massana Construction’s has scheduled a bridge closure in conjunction with an active interstate bridge maintenance contract on County Road (CR) 129/Jones Road in McIntosh County.  Jones Road bridge over I-95 will close to thru-traffic beginning Monday, November 15.

Signage will direct drivers to an off-site detour via US 17/State Route (SR) 25, Sandy Run Road and Barrington Ferry Road/Jones Road to detour from the closed I-95 overpass bridge. Local traffic can navigate up to the bridge closure barricades.

The detour should be removed in January 2022. The roadway will reopen early if the work is completed ahead of schedule or could possibly be closed longer if weather or other factors delays the work.

Work enhancements planned for this and several other bridges features raising the structure’s vertical clearance, bridge deck preservation (polymer overlay), joint replacement where necessary and stabilizing the superstructure and substructure.
