Georgia DOT permitted Atlanta Gas Light a six-day road closure in conjunction with required utility work on State Route (SR) 119 between Deal Street and Palm Drive in the City of Hinesville.
SR 119 will be closed, and traffic detoured beginning 6 p.m., Friday, April 1 continuing through 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 6. Contractors for Atlanta Gas Light will prepare and maintain the detour around the closure, which utilizes SR 119, SR 196, US 84/SR 38 and General Screven Way.
Motorists will be able to access businesses and residences in the area up to work zone.
The detour routes will be signed as follows:
SR 119 Northbound: Northbound SR 119 traffic will travel North to SR 196. Turn right on SR 196 East and continue to US 84/SR 38. Turn left on US 84 and travel East to General Screven Way. Turn left on General Screven Way and travel East to SR 119 where detour ends.
SR 119 Southbound: Southbound SR 119 traffic will travel South to General Stewart Way. Continue on General Screven Way West and continue to SR 38. Turn Right on SR 38 and travel West to SR 196. Turn right on SR 196 and travel West to SR 119 where detour ends.
