OTC Shines at FBLA Collegiate State Competition, Head to Nationals

“Our OTC diamond students, Rebecca Meredith (Logistics/Supply Chain Management), Brittany Meadows (Early Childhood Care & Education), Gloria Wallace (Business Technology), and Branden Browder (Manufacturing Engineering), shined bright and showcased exceptional talent and dedication, bringing home prestigious awards such as Chapter of the Year and multiple first-place finishes,” said OTC instructor Michael Twisdale.

Twisdale, who serves as the FBLA Advisor, was awarded the 2024 Adviser of the Year at this year’s competition. In addition to the Chapter of the Year award, the OTC FBLA Collegiate won the Collegiate Service Award, and the Award of Merit, Platinum Level. Individual awards included:

•    1st Place – State of the Chapter Presentation – Rebecca Meredith and Brittany Meadows
•    1st Place – Computer Applications – Rebecca Meredith
•    1st Place – Sports Management and Marketing – Rebecca Meredith
•    4th Place – Foundations of Hospitality Management – Brittany Meadows
•    4th Place – Foundations of Technology – Brittany Meadows

“I am especially honored and humbled to receive the Adviser of the Year award for the state. As their Faculty Adviser, I am immensely proud of their achievements and look forward to supporting them as they represent our college at the 2024 FBLA Collegiate National Leadership Conference in Orlando,” said Twisdale.

The top 4 in each competition move on to compete in the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida June 24-27, 2024.
