SEB Students Visit OTC for an Intro into Cybersecurity

Students from Southeast Bulloch High School (SEB), along with SEB instructor Brandon Jones, visited the Ogeechee Technical College (OTC) campus on September 24th to learn about the incredible world of Cybersecurity.

OTC instructors Donny Collins, Terry Hand, and Izell Scott gave a presentation on IT and Cybersecurity, talking to visitors about potential careers in IT/Cybersecurity including what skills graduates will need and what pay graduates in these fields can expect to make.

“I had the wonderful opportunity of leading the students through a hands-on exercise that showed them some of the things they can learn in our Cybersecurity program including Cryptography, Penetration Testing, and Vulnerability Assessments” said Hand. “The exercise, that also included some Steganography, was a fun opportunity to see how quickly and easily data can be stolen and why Cybersecurity is such an important field.”
