Eagles Hold First Preseason Scrimmage

The Georgia Southern football squad held its first full scrimmage Saturday afternoon at Allen E. Paulson Stadium as it continues preparing for the season opener against Boise State. 

The offense scored six touchdowns, coming from six different players, although some of the scores came in short-field situations. 

The first drive of the day was capped by 9-yard touchdown run from OJ Arnold and then on the next drive, David Dallas scored on a 50-yard run. Also scoring touchdowns on the ground were Tyler BudgeJalen White and J’Shawn AndersonJP Mikhael had the lone receiving score, coming on a short pass from Dallas.

The offense ran for 252 yards and threw for 234 yards and committed just one turnover, a fumble forced by Zack Blackwell and recovered by Elijah McDowell.

The Eagles will continue preseason camp on Monday.
