South Georgia Tormenta FC has announced the addition of defenders Reagan Tate, Malene Duus and Alicia Zamora to its inaugural 2022 USL W League roster, pending league and federation approval. The talented group joins a fighting Tormenta FC roster under the helm of Head Coach Jim Robbins ahead of tonight’s inaugural kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET from Erk Russell Park.
Tate, 22, brings four years of experience representing the Old Dominion University women’s soccer program. Through those years, she has accumulated 44 appearances for the Monarchs. Tate’s ability to play as a defender and throughout the midfield makes her a versatile player that will bring experience and mobility to the young Tormenta FC core.
“Reagan is a dynamic outside back who can build from the back, connect the game with easy and simple passes, and get forward to join the attack in the final third,” Robbins said. “She can combine with front players, provide quality service in the box, and challenge GKs with long range shots from outside the penalty area.
“Defensively, Reagan is not afraid to play physical and is very good at defending one-on-one. She is one of the best that I have seen in a while at blocking shots and serves to help out her GK.”
