South Georgia Tormenta FC and the Ibis Foundation have announced the formation of the JonPaul (JP) Gonzalez Scholarship, established in memory of JonPaul (JP) Gonzalez, a former Tormenta FC Academy player.
JonPaul, a Bluffton, South Carolina native, passed away in a tragic car accident on December 4, 2021. JP was a member of the Tormenta FC Academy for a decade, and his family has been heavily involved with the club since its founding.
“JonPaul loved the game of soccer and playing for his club, Tormenta FC,” Christina Galbreath-Gonzalez, mother of JonPaul states. “In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The JonPaul Gonzalez Scholarship Fund to give the opportunity for a child to play the game JP loved so much.”
The Ibis Foundation will accept donations in memory of JP which will go towards funding one chosen TFC Academy player’s team and uniform fees each year, starting with TFC Academy’s 2022 season.
