June 10th Ribbon Cutting Set to Reopen Renovated McCall Park

County officials will celebrate the renovations and additions made to McCall Park with a ribbon cutting to be held on Friday, June 10th at 10:00 am at the park, located at 5450 McCall Road, Rincon. Commissioners will officially open the park for the first time since summer of 2021.

Improvements made to McCall park included adding a multi-purpose field (for soccer, lacrosse, or football), a full-sized outdoor basketball court, a big and little dog park, a 1/3 mile paved walking trail, and a new paved parking lot. Renovations were made to the baseball field, bathrooms, pavilion, and sign.  Plans to add a playground this year are also in the works.

District 2 Commissioner Roger Burdette stated, “Exceptional parks and recreation facilities are key elements of a strong, safe, and family-friendly community.  The renovation and improvements to McCall Park demonstrates this commitment to both our tax payers, as well as our recreation and youth sports programs.”

Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) funds, as well as donations from Omnitrax and Mr. Keith Sapp, in honor of his son Jake, have helped to bring these much needed improvements to the park, which will be open daily from dawn to dusk after the reopening.
